There are many coaches out there who are only too happy to issue mass produced, generic “cookie cut” training programmes, that take no account of the strengths of the athlete, his individual needs, and the specific performance aspects of preparing for a priority event.
Greg’s ability to step back and take a fresh & honest look at the demands of the event and the specific preparation required for it, really helped me to maximise my performance, right on the day, when it mattered.
His advice on what I can leave out of my training is probably the most valuable element in his approach.
We all have good days and bad days, but Greg’s advice has allowed me to be confident on the start line, knowing exactly how much is in the tank, on any given Sunday.
His message: be specific in your training, and cut out all the unnecessary bits.
